Musicnotes Inc. is hitting all the right notes on its e-commerce site so far in 2008. A combination of building its content and customer service helped the web-only sheet music and guitar tablature retailer reach $3 million in online sales from January through early May.

Omniture Announces Marketing Software Upgrade
Omniture, a leading business software provider, today announced a new version of its Test & Target software that allows marketers to create, test, and execute marketing campaigns directly on their Web sites. With the new software, marketers should be able to save time and implement changes immediately on their sites, which should make the production of A/B tests and other targeted campaigns faster and easier.

Omniture- a whole new world of web analytics
In the organization I work for we have been using WebTrends to track our website traffic. We have about 70,000 visitors every month (according to WebTrends). The problem is that we are using WebTrends to analyse the server logs and interpret them to give us our traffic data. This is a very unreliable way of doing things.

Aberdeen Group Announces Top 100 Most Influential Technology Vendors for 2008
BOSTON, MA - May 13, 2008 - The Annual State of the Market Report out from the Aberdeen Group showcases the results of five years of research and up to date insight from 4,645 snap-shot survey respondents. New to the report this year is a compilation of the Top 100 organizations that excelled at providing value to the business community. The list included software, hardware, and service providers with Microsoft, Oracle and SAP rounding out the top three spots. Technology household names including IBM, Dell, HP, Cisco, Salesforce.com, EMC and Sun closed out the top 10. Other well established brands including Google (#11), RIM/Blackberry (#12), Apple (#16), Motorola (#22), Intel (#29), and Intuit (#46) were notably present.

Omniture's John Mellor: Executive Vice President Of Business Development
After John Mellor earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering in the 1980s, he wasn't sure what he wanted to do. So, he took every graduate admission test available, from the GMAT for business schools to the LSAT for law schools. He was even accepted to dental school at the University of Iowa. Instead, he chose a very different path. Mr. Mellor and some friends founded Viewpoint Corp., a 3D computer graphics company, which they later sold to Computer Associates International, now CA Inc., for an undisclosed sum. Mr. Mellor eventually did do a stint in graduate school -- earning an M.B.A. -- and landed at Omniture Inc. in 2003 with stops along the way at Frontline Educational Products LLC, and RichFX Inc. Elizabeth Garone spoke to Mr. Mellor about his career path. Edited excerpts follow.

New site and platform boosting sales for Under Armour
Sales are up 70% over a year ago at the web site of athletic gear manufacturer and retailer Under Armour Inc. since it relaunched its site on a new e-commence platform, Mark Kuhns, vice president of e-commerce, tells Internet Retailer. Conversion is up 30 basis points year over year, Kuhns adds.
Based on what they had learned from customers, Kuhns and his team focused on acquiring technology for image management, search and analytics, eventually partnering with Scene7 for imaging and Omniture for analytics.
