Webtrends Looks to Reclaim Position in Web Analytics Market
Alex Yoder, president and chief executive officer of Webtrends, will be the first to tell you his company has made some mistakes. Among the earlier players in the Web analytics space, Webtrends was bulky, tech-focused, and in an age when business-technology alignment is mandatory, the vendor just couldn't keep up. By the end of October 2007, the entire executive team at Webtrends was dismissed, marking the beginning of the company's transition period. In August 2008, Yoder became CEO and began building a new executive team. With the launch of Webtrends Analytics 9, the company is turning over a new leaf by focusing on using customer success to fuel its own. Capturing Clicks: Find the Right Visitor Metrics Software For Your Needs
For a publication offering content online, the ability to measure visits accurately is crucial: that information forms the basis of the prices that a site can charge for advertising. One other metric is also vital, especially from an advertiser’s point of view: the cost per thousand page impressions (CPM). On any given ad, the value of the ad is calculated by measuring the number of clicks registered on that ad and calculating how much the advertiser is spending per thousand clicks. With the growing opportunities for click fraud, accurate metrics are a requirement for any media website.

Why Twitter Rules (and What to Do About It)
In the past few months, the Twitter phenomenon has reached epic proportions. Personally, I chalk this up to the malaise that is gripping us all as we struggle to make sense of both the economic crisis and the political seismic shifts that are upon us. Not content to consume news media and blogs, we now all want to make sense of it, to share our observations, and most of all to connect. So this odd 140-character microblogging platform, known as Twitter, has ballooned in importance.
