OREM, Utah - June 9, 2009 - Omniture, Inc. (NASDAQ: OMTR), a leading provider of online business optimization software, today announced the results of a recent iPhone application development and measurement contest held in conjunction with Brigham Young University (BYU). The competition featured 12 teams, all of which had developed iPhone applications that included Omniture's App measurement for iPhone solution.  Winners were determined by the total number of unique users that ran the app during a 14-day period between March 23 and April 5.  Awesome Ball, the Omniture iPhone Application Contest winner, posted more than 370,000 downloads and was ranked as the #1 free iPhone app download during the contest.

"The Marriott School of Management at BYU is committed to helping its students become leaders and, in particular, our Center is dedicated to creating leaders in entrepreneurship and technology as it is applied to business," said John Richards, Associate Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at Brigham Young University.  "This competition taught the students about leading-edge tools in the marketplace for connecting with customers and constituents.  We are most grateful to industry partners like Omniture who make this possible."

"The Omniture iPhone App Competition was a great experience," said Brian Pratt, student developer for the Awesome Ball application. "We had a lot of fun coming up with ideas and seeing them come to life as we developed our application. It was also exciting to watch the popularity of our app grow to become the top downloaded free iPhone application."

The top four applications included the following, listed in order from first to fourth: Awesome Ball, MicroKart, Battle Dot and GreenWars. Student created applications had more than 1 million visits the day after the competition concluded. To date, those applications have generated more than 4 million visits. The top four application teams were awarded with cash and prizes totaling $20,000 from Omniture.

"At Omniture, we are committed to helping our customers succeed with emerging digital channels like the iPhone and other powerful mobile devices," said Matt Belkin, senior vice president of emerging business at Omniture. "Our congratulations to the BYU students who developed these applications. We look forward to sponsoring similar contests in the future."

The Omniture iPhone Application Competition challenged students to develop and measure applications for the iPhone.  All teams were given access to App Measurement for iPhone capabilities from Omniture SiteCatalyst.  This mobile application measurement technology allows marketers and software developers to better understand how iPhone users are interacting with their iPhone applications.  With this real-time information, developers can use SiteCatalyst information to improve application usability and provide iPhone users with an improved customer experience.
